About Me

My photo
I am Luke Goddard, the son of Bruce and Kathy Goddard. My father is in the funeral home business and has published a book, entitled "View From a Hearse: Lighten Up." You can read him at www.viewfromahearse.blogspot.com. With this site, I plan on enjoying my passion one blog at a time. Ever since I was a child, I've been obsessed with the Atlanta Braves. As a kid, I would put on shows for my parents and their friends by impersonating each of the Braves' batting stance with a broom stick. My parents seemed to enjoy it. Plus, it was a way for me to get inside the mind of a Brave and be them for a moment. Now, as I've grown older, I still find myself totally absorbed in the game, especially the Braves ball club. I even find myself at times impersonating their stances with a broom stick as I watch their games. Call me a Braves nut... that's fine. It's an honor. I hope you enjoy the stories you read here. Go Braves.

Florida Coast Update #1

Cole and I originally wanted to leave last night with the plans of driving all night. That didn't happen.

My mom, Cole's mom, and my honey told us that they didn't have a good feeling about us driving all night down the coast. So instead of worrying them to death by traveling in the wee hours of the morning, we decided to stay here and get some good rest.

It's 1:45pm. I just got a text from Cole saying, "Load your bags up. Let's hit the road."

I'm pretty excited about the road trip. However, I'm not too excited about leaving this Braves game. I wanted to see how Jo Jo would do. He's not looking too smooth. He's getting in jams and by luck, he's dancing out of the jams. He's reminding me of that Jorge Sosa fella we once had...

Okay, so it's 2-1 with the Padres in the lead in the top of the 3rd. Thankfully, Jo Jo is facing a former struggling Brave, Will Ledezma. This is his first start of the season. He's been in relief so far in his time in the majors. So, the match-up is about dead even.

I should be getting on the road. We'll talk soon.

Keep checking back.
